I'm gonna have a little talk with Jesus
When I get home tonight
Gonna tell him all about my troubles
And I know he'll make them right
Then I'll ask him to forgive me
For the things that I've done wrong
Gonna have a little talk with Jesus
Tonight when I get home
This world can be a struggle
Just livin' day to day
You'll run into the devil
With every step you take
I seen his face a hundred times
As he tried to lead me wrong
He don't understand
That I don't walk this road alone
I'm gonna have a little talk with Jesus
When I get home tonight
Gonna tell him all about my troubles
And I know he'll make them right
Then I'll ask him to forgive me
For the things that I've done wrong
Gonna have a little talk with Jesus
Tonight when I get home
Lord said I could call on him
When ever I feel low
Any time or place I needed him
He would gladly go
My life has not been perfect
No matter how I try
But he's never turned his back on me
And that's the reason why
I'm gonna have a little talk with Jesus
When I get home tonight
Gonna tell him all about my troubles
And I know he'll make them right
Then I'll ask him to forgive me
For the things that I've done wrong
Gonna have a little talk with Jesus
Tonight when I get home
I'm gonna have a little talk with Jesus
When I get home tonight
Gonna tell him all about my troubles
And I know he'll make them right
Then I'll ask him to forgive me
For the things that I've done wrong
Gonna have a little talk with Jesus
Tonight when I get home
I'm Gonna have a little talk with Jesus
Tonight when I get home
This is a sweet song I heard the other day on a CD. It is my favorite one this week. It is sung by Randy Travis. Go listen to it.
This is a blog that is made for people who love old time poetry and love God. Here we read poems from a range of different authors to some of the best story around. I hope you enjoy it.

The outlaw was out rustling cow in
a torrential down pour
He had been riding for 3 days straight,
and his horse was getting mighty sore
They were pushing their contraband across
the Mexico
line
Running away from the law is how
the outlaw spent most of his time
His ma and pa always wondered in
their mind how he fell astray
They knelt and prayed for their wayward son every night and day
They had taught him from his youth about
God and his son Jesus Christ
And how God's beloved son Jesus had
to pay that ultimate sacrifice
The outlaw knew what kind of life
he was living
And if he didn't change his life it
would be unforgiving
But his name was so great he was known
quite well
And how many times he had rustled
and robbed no one could ever tell
But this time he was worried for lightning
was dancing all about
And he could hear a voice, he
thought it could be a shout
Then at that moment lightning
struck ten yards from him
He thought this could be it; his
life would end in sin
A wicked past unfolded, he thought
of all those wasted years
The drunken parties and wrecked saloons
and all the stolen steers
But a miracle was preformed that
night one that keep him from dying
One that answered his ma and pa prayers
because they keep a trying
Thunder spooked his pony and it reared
and threw him on the ground
But the outlaw landed in the muddy
clay safe and sound
He bolted under a rock to seek some
shelter from the storm
He then said a prayer to God to show
that he wasn't misinformed
He changed his life around and a
pardon he was granted
He was grateful for that wonderful
seed that his parents had planted
Forgiven by the love of God a love
that will remain
He gave his life and soul that
night when the savior beckoned for his name

Jake The Rancher
Jake the rancher went one day
To fix a distant fence.
The wind was cold and gusty,
And the clouds were gray and dense.
As he pounded the last staples in,
And gathered tools to go,
The temperature had fallen
And the snow began to blow.
When he finally reached his pickup,
He felt a heavy heart;
From the sound of that ignition,
He knew it wouldn't start.
So Jake did what most of us would do,
If we would have been there---
He humbly bowed his balding head,
And sent a heart-felt prayer.
As he turned the key the last time,
He softly cursed his luck;
They found him, three days later,
Frozen stiff in that old truck.
Now Jake had been around in life,
And done his share of roamin'
But he was shocked when he saw heaven,
For it looked just like Wyomin'.
Of all the saints in heaven,
His favorite was Saint Peter;
And when Jake got to heaven,
Well, guess who was the greeter?.
They set and talked a minute or two,
Or maybe even three;
There wasn't no one keepin' score---
In heaven, time is free.
"Ive always heard," Jake said to Pete,
"That God will answer prayer.
But the one time when I asked for help,
Well, He just plain wasn't there."
"Does God answer the prayers of some,
But not the prayers of others?
That don't seem exactly right---
I thought all men were brothers."
"Or does He randomly reply,
Without good rhyme or reason?
Or maybe it's the time of day,
The weather or the season."
"Now I ain't tryin' to act smart,
It's just the way I feel.
And I wondered could you tell me,
Just what the heck's the deal?"
Peter listened very patiently,
And then when Jake was done,
There were smiles of recognition,
And he said, "So you're the one!"
"That day when your truck wouldn't start,
And you sent your prayer a'flyin'
You gave us all a real bad time,
With hundreds of us tryin' "
"A thousand angels rushed to check
The status of your file,
But you know, Jake, we hadn't heard
From you in quite a while.
And though all prayers are answered,
And God ain't got no quota,
He didn't recognize your voice,
And started a truck in North Dakota!"

Thinkin' it Over
It's odd but there is one thing most people like to do.I was readying this today and I was thinking about what a great knowledge the plan of salvation gives us in this matter. It lets us know that we will meet our loved one's on the other side. What a great piece of information for us to know. It comforts me to know this, and i hope it does you to. If you aren't sure what the plan of salvation is check out this cool link and watch this sweet video to learn more. http://www.lds.org/media-library/video/doctrine-and-covenants-visual-resources?lang=eng&query=plan+salvation#2010-07-12-the-plan-of-salvation
To spend a while beside the grave of some one that you knew.
You do it when you've time enough to make a quiet ride.
To see the fleecy clouds above and watch the shadows glide.
You think of things he did and said, and of the ways he had.
And now to think that he is dead. It makes you feel plum sad.
It brings the old days back again, you live them one by one.
You think of things that happened then, and what you should have done.
They say there'll be a Judgment Day when dead men rise again.
So I suppose he'll have to stay just where he is till then.
But then you reckon that the one who made the world knows best.
He takes them when their work is done and lets them have their rest.
And when at last our strength has failed we make our last long ride.
We leave this world and take the trail across the great divide.
So when it's time to make the change we'll go where they have gone.
We'll meet them on another range somewhere in the beyond.
Bruce Kiskaddon
Also if you have any question let me know. let us also remember what we are here for. In the prophet Alma book in the book of Mormon. we read .......
Alma 34: 32 "For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors." We need to strive to prepare to meet God in this life. What a wonderful thing. Our goal is to learn of God and see him bless us for striving to learn of him and prepare to meet him. I hope you think about this for the next week or to and prepare to meet God. May God bless you who read this and keep looking for more blog from I, and it is my prayer that they touch your heart some how. God Bless

If Genesis was right on track concerning Adam's birth
And seven days was all it took to build the planet Earth,
Then where does carbon dating fit? And all the dinosaurs?
Plus all that other ancient stuff that happened on our shores?
Now, I believe in scientists. They aren't just lunatics!
But I believe in Genesis, which leaves me in a fix.
The answer finally came to me while making up this rhyme,
God made the earth in seven days, but...that was Cowboy Time!
Have you ever called the shoer to set aside a day?
You scrutinize your calendar, say "Tuesday'd be okay."
The big day comes, you take off work, alas, he's never seen.
You call him back and he inquires, "Which Tuesday did you mean?"
Did you ever place an order to get a saddle made?
An A-Fork tree and padded seat with silver hand-inlaid.
As decades pass, all you can do is sit around and eat
So by the time it finally comes you've padded your own seat!
A friend came by on July 4th. He swore he couldn't stay
But then he said, "ForAuthor: Baxter Black just a bit." He left on Christmas day!
'Soon,' to all my cowboy friends means next year... or tomorrow
Depending whether in the deal he plans to lend or borrow!
'A couple days,' 'a little while,' 'not long,' or 'right away!'
Should not be taken li'trally in cowboyville today.
But like I said, the precedent was set so long ago.
The angels had to learn themselves what all good cowboys know.
They worried if they didn't work to keep the schedule tight
That Earth would not be finished by the deadline Sunday night.
They'd never learned to think in terms of 'rollin' with the flow'
But God does things on Cowboy Time...to watch the flowers grow.
He bade the angels to relax and said, "For Heaven's sakes,
I'll get it done is seven days...however long it takes!"

What would you do?
What would you do if Jesus came to spend some time with you?
What if he came unexpected what would you do?
When you saw him coming would you greet him at the door?
With your arms wide open to greet your heavenly visitor,
or would you change some thing be for you let him in?
like change the TV channel or maybe put the scripture were they should of been.
I know you would give him the nicest room to honour this guest,
and all the food you would serve him would be the very best.
and you would keep assuring him that you are glad to have him there,
and to serve him in your home is joy that you can't compare,
but would your family conversation keep its normal pace,
and would you find it hard to say a table grace?
Would you be glad to let him meet some of your closes friends,
or would you hope they stayed away tell his visit ends?
Would you take him with you everywhere you planned to go,
or just change your plans for a day or so?
Would you be glad to see him stay forever on and on,
or would you sigh with great relief when he had gone?
Would it be interesting to know the things you would do,
if Jesus came in person to spend some time with you?

lesson of life and rules in life.
Here is a change of writing for all of you who followers of the Walch Street Journal. I tried to write a poem about this but i can't write a poem with out a story being told so we are going for a little essay. The other day i was driving in to Billings. On this drive into Billing there isn't the greatest sites to see so i was thinking, trying to kill some time. When the lesson of life came into my mind. I was remembering all the small lesson that my dad and family had taught me and all of the rules. One of them happen to be the words from a old country singer the words are advice we always should remember and they go something like this.
"Now a cowboy's got a set of rules that he lives by day to dayIf you ask for his advice, he'll more than likely sayIf it's a fence, mend it. If it's a dollar bill, spend itBefore if burns a hole down in them jeans If it's a load, truck it. If it's a punch, duck it.If she's a lady, treat her like a queen."
I could go on for hours with these so called rules that we should live by. Instead i am going to tell you about a set of rules that can effect are life forever. My mom taught me these rules and if we live by them are life will run more smoothly. I can promise that. They are more then rules they are commandments, and we always hear about the 10 commandments. I believe all christian family strive to live by and they are:
1.thou shalt have no other God before me.
2.thou shalt worship the one God.
3.thou shall not take the lords name in vain.
4.thou shall keep the sabbath day holy
5.thou shall honer they father and mother.
6.thou shall not kill
7.thou shall not commit adultery
8.thou shall not steal
9.thou shall not bear any false witness
10.thou shall not covet
If you want to read these for your self they can be found in exodus 20 in your king james bibles.
These are a good start to rules in are life. Heavenly father is are father in Heaven, And like a good parent he is going to give us some more rules when time changes. For example the older i got i found out that my parents had given me more rules. Like when i was in high school. They gave me rules to help me become more self reliant and so i could handle the world outside of my small town. Heavenly Father is like wise going to do the same so we can be come more self reliant in life. Threw modern revelation he has reviled to us some rules like the word of wisdom, chastity, and following the prophet council. These are thing that if we keep he will bless us in are life. I have seen the blessing of keeping the commandments. I am greatful for my parents to teach me these thing. This was a lesson they taught me that I know if I follow I will be blessed for. I encourage all who read this to start keeping these commandments and if you have any question don't be affraid to get a hold of your local missionaries or your nearest church members.

Remembering the Priesthood and its Blessing
The young man was crossing the graduation stage
Thinking to himself in the book of life I’m turning another page
Reminiscing about what was written there
The thought came up about all the hard work and all the loving care
Then a thought came across his mind of a life changing moment
One where it made him thankful for the greatest gift the atonement
It all started back long ago in his junior year
When life seem to be going good, when he was full of cheer
The summer time was spent throwing all the hay
Just so he could earn a few bucks and afford to play
Then the thought ran crossed his mind about the football team
Back in the days when he felt like he was a king
When all the reminiscing came to a stop at a certain football game
One where his life changed and will never be the same
He went for a tackle just like he had done a 100 times before
But after all was said and done he felt might sore
He went to the doctor’s to ask if he could be repaired
The doctor answered him; no we can’t fix you, not here or anywhere
The cheer he had was gone he felt down and out
The doctor told him no more sports, racing or riding just old boring scout
His life just came to a screeching stop, new thing he would have to try to do
He pictures himself in the future wearing a business suit with shine black shoes.
He knew there had to be another way
He heard of miracle preformed, way back in the day
Wondering how these miracles were done long ago, he asked his mom and dad
They looked at him and said go fetch my scripture bag.
He ran to their room full of happiness and joy
Knowing in the scripture there was a story for this situation, made him yell out, o boy!
She read a scripture from the book of James that made me smile from within
A prayer of faith shall save the sick. Of course were has my mind been.
The power of the priesthood just like in the day of Jesus Christ
It all goes back to the man who gave up the ultimate sacrifice
he yelled at his dad you’re an elder of the priesthood get up and out of bed
Fetch your oil and give me a blessing upon my head
Something happened that day that he will never forget
A lesson about the priesthood and the power it has in it
It made him think about his life and on that boys face there will always be a huge grin
Now a few years later that’s all in his passed
he can thank this gospel for his restored back
so let us remember the faith that this boy had here
and when we come across time where we want to shed a tear
lets remember that faith and pray can help everyone.
so let us remember the faith that this boy had here
and when we come across time where we want to shed a tear
lets remember that faith and pray can help everyone.

Work and Self-Reliance
I give unto them a commandment, thus: Thou shalt not idle away thy time, neither shalt thou bury thy talent that it may not be known.
Doctrine and Covenants Section 60:13
I was reading this scripture the other day in my studies and i was think hard about it. Their seem to be a lot of people that i know who are idling there time in today's world. To often i see the youth of today playing video games and bragging about there tasks they have beaten. Slowly I can see there IQ level drop. We as youth spend so much time playing video games and watching the television. If we spent 1/2 the time studying I bet we all could be doctors or lawyers or such. I don't want to sound like a hypocrite because I use to spend my far share of face book games. I can thank one of my friends for helping me realized the time I was wasting away. She made a joke about how pathetic my life was when I was asking her to harvest my computer crops as my real crops withered away out side. Her comment gave me the reality check I need to under stand that I was being suckered in to one of Satan traps. Even though it seemed harmless to me and the people around me it still provided a good point. To often we are putting a side choirs and school work even scripture studying time to be easily entertained by these device.
We as youth today need to learn good work ethics to help better the future. We can't learn how to take care of ourselves if we are busy shooting zombies and cutting up fruit like a ninja. We need to start are good work ethic in the home. Helping our families with taking care of the house and yard are always a good start. We need to also learn how to manage are money so we can become self reliable. Setting high goals for our self will make these things easier. Setting goals to live on a budget and setting working goals will get us ready for life after high school and college. Setting these goals will help us to become more self reliance. When you are self-reliant you are using the blessings and abilities to take care of yourself and your family and to find answer for all your own problems. Becoming self reliance does not mean that you must be able to do all things on your own. To be truly self reliant, you must learn how to work with others and be able to learn how to ask the lord for strenght and knowledge.

The Sheep-Herders Lament
I have summered in the tropics,
With the yellow fever chill;
I have been down with the scurvy;
I've had every ache and ill.
I have wintered in the Arctic,
Frost-bitten to the bone;
I've been in a Chinese dungeon,
Where I spent a year alone.
I've been shanghaied on a whaler;
And was stranded on the deep,
But I never knew was misery was,
Till I started herding sheep.
The camp boss now is two weeks late
The burro dead three days.
The dogs are all sore footed, but
The sheep have got to graze.
They won't bed down till after dark,
And they're off before the dawn;
With their baaing and their blatting
They are scattered and they're gone.
I smell their wooly stink all day
And I hear them in my sleep;
Oh, I never knew what misery was,
Till I started herding sheep.
My feet are sore, my boots worn out;
I'm afraid I'll never mend;
I've got to where a horny-toad
Looks like a long lost friend.
The Spanish Inquisition might
Have been a whole lot worse,
If instead of crucifixion, they
Had had some sheep to nurse.
Old Job had lots of patience, but
He got off pretty cheap--
He never knew what misery was,
For he never herded sheep.
It's nice enough to tell the kids,
Of the big, old, stout ram,
The gentle soft-eyed mother ewe,
And the wooly little lamb.
It's nice to have your mutton chops,
And your woolen clothes to wear,
But you never stop to give a though
To the man that put them there.
The blind and deaf are blessed,
The cripples, too, that creep;
They'll never know what misery is,
For they never will herd sheep.

If i put my feet in jesus shoes i undersatnd how hard it would be to keep the fold in line and all together. we always have some of the sheep leave the fold and its hard for us to get them to come back. when we do get them to come back we rejoice. i know from experiense how great this joy is and i hope for all to feel it. so reach out to the lost people and bring them back.

Take my Son.....
A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art..
When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.
About a month later, just before Christmas,
There was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands..
He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly... He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.'
The father
Opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture.. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift.'
The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.
The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.
On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?'
There was silence...
Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one.'
But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting? Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?'
Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandts. Get on with the Real bids!'
But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?'
Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting...' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.
'We have $10, who will bid $20?'
'Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.'
The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.
They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.
The auctioneer pounded the gavel.. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!'
A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!'
The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.'
'What about the paintings?'
'I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will... I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.
The man who took the son gets everything!'
God gave His son over 2,000 years ago to die on the Cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: 'The Son, the Son, who'll take the Son?'
Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything!
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT'S LOVE

LET IT REALLY SINK IN - THEN CHOOSE.
John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood
and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how
he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"
He was a natural motivator.
If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee
how to look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked
him, "I don't get it!"
"You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"
He replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two
choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or...you can choose to
be in a bad mood
I choose to be in a good mood."
Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or...I can
choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.
Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their
complaining or...I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the
positive side of life.
"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.
"Yes, it is," he said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away
all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to
situations. You choose how people affect your mood.
You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your
choice how you live your life."
I reflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry
to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him
when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.
Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious
accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.
After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released
from the hospital with rods placed in his back.
I saw him about six months after the accident.
When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be
twins....Wanna see my scars?"
I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his
mind as the accident took place.
"The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my
soon-to-be born daughter," he replied. "Then, as I lay on the ground, I
remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I could
choose to die. I chose to live."
"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.
He continued, "...the paramedics were great.
They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me
into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and
nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I
knew I needed to take action."
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me," said John.
"She asked if I was allergic to anything 'Yes, I replied.' The doctors
and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep
breath and yelled, 'Gravity'".
Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live. Operate on me
as if I am alive, not dead."
He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his
amazing attitude...I learned from him that every day we have the choice to
live fully.
Attitude, after all, is everything.
I got this as a email from one of my dearest friends and i wanted to share it with everyone that follows the Walch street journal. I hope this help you have a better attitude about things around you and the people around you. If you have a great attitude it will spread, They are very contagious like smiling.

We were driving into eureka on a Tuesday night
The snow was coming down it was a miserable sight
It took us 2 hours to go 60 miles
But my companion and I still wore a great big smile
I thought to myself, why is this so?
Why are we smiling and happy when it was so bitter cold
I thought well it could have been that dinner we just ate
All that Italian food on those fancy plates
Or was it because our training meeting was done
And we knew that we could enjoy some fun
Or was it because in my studies
I could answer a question for my buddy
Then I thought back to Sunday what a way to start the week
It was nice to go to church and strengthen my testimony when it was so weak
Or was I happy to teach some people and by away from home
Living and spreading the gospel in Montana, being able to roam
Maybe it was because I worked out so early
Even if you add up all the min I workout they equal thirty
Then I ponder on all the tuff rules I have to obey
Getting up at 6:30 and studying most of the day
Then spending time talking to people who think I am crazy
Because I am not indoors watching tv and being lazy.
They ask me what has gotten into you, why do you like to boast?
I simply answer, I’m inviting you to listen to the Holy Ghost.
Then a light bulb flickered on inside my simple brain
I know why we were happy and glad we weren’t going insane.
Obedience to the gospel we live it all the time.
The lord blesses our family’s and that is what eased our minds.
I reminisced about all the letter I got from my kin
To here they were doing great it brought joy from with in
I knew if we were righteous in this Zion land
God would help us prosper with his loving hand
It was a promise he gave to a prophet’s way back in the day
He even gave his beloved son to pave us a righteous way
So all we have to do is follow his loving rules
And heavenly father will give us all the tools.
I challenge all who ready this to live up to their best
Heavenly father won’t give us rules if we can’t follow them like the rest.
